Keeping Each Other Accountable and Together

“Respect is one of life’s greatest treasures.
I mean, what does it all add up to if you don’t have that?”

~Marilyn Monroe

When I first started to learn about responsibilities and respect, I thought it was annoying and worthless, but when I started to use the themes in my life, I started to enjoy it and realized it’s an important way to show self improvement. Those themes mean a lot to me because they are themes that will always be a key factor to a good community and lifestyle. That’s why respect and reasonability as the two pillars to write about.

Everyone has their own responsibilities. The theme of responsibility is important to me because when people don’t fulfill their responsibilities our community isn’t the best it can be. I learned when I was young that you should always know your responsibilities and should complete them: like cleaning up after yourself or helping others when in need. when I first started to learn about responsibilities I thought it was stupid and no fun but when I started to clean up messes I got a feeling of accomplishment. Obviously I didn’t like everything that came with having responsibilities but sometimes I enjoyed it. Having responsibilities is a reason why communities work and can function when everyone does their part. When I have a group project in school everyone has their responsibilities to get stuff done and get a good grade. Or when you have to feed your dog it’s the same story it helps everyone in a way.Being responsible will always be hard no matter what and will have its pros and cons. But in the end I think it is very satisfying to finish the tasks you are obligated to do. So for me I think responsibility is a very important idea in my life and I think it should be in everyone’s life. It will always be important to know your responsibilities; but it is also important to show respect.

Respect is the way to make relations. The foundation of friendship is respect. If you treat others with respect you will get the same back towards you. When I first came to Fenn I didn’t have many friends, and when I started to respect others, that’s how I made friends. When I found out that respect is a core value of Fenn, I knew why.At a young age I always knew that respect would help me  in the long run. That is why I always valued it.There was a time when I was going to camp and I had no friends so I was nice to people and showed respect. That who I made friends with and I wanted to get back for the next few years still to this day. That’s why I chose respect for a theme in these two paragraphs. Respect is important to me because it helps make relationships and friendship is another big theme in my life. Also because it makes the world a better place to live. This is why I think respect is such an important theme in life and will get you so so far.

If there’s one thing you know by now, I hope it is why respect and your responsibilities are so important and it’s clear why I chose these two fantastic pillars to live by.
